Students Exercise Their First Amendment Rights — And Win

The Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina was originally scheduled to give the commencement address at the upcoming graduation. Based on her views, many students felt she did not have their best interests at heart and did not want her to speak. At first, it looked like no change would be made — but eventually, a change was made regarding who would address the students.

Regardless of where you stand politically, this is a moment to be proud of. These are Bulldogs standing up for what they believe in — and that’s what we do.

The Wire Is Rolling — Thanks to the Community

The first Bulldog Wire went off without a hitch, and I received a few great responses. One key response came from fellow Bulldog Harley McCray, one of the founders of the Wire. His endorsement and encouragement for me to keep rolling meant a lot to me.

Remembering Richard “Tree” Roundtree

I did not want to come right back with heavy news, but as many Bulldogs probably know, we recently lost one of our own: Richard “Tree” Roundtree.

Tree played center for the Bulldogs, and it was only fitting that he would go on to become the first African American Sheriff in Augusta — a monumental accomplishment. But honestly, we expect nothing less from a Bulldog.

That loss sparked something among us as we sat around at a Bulldog Roundup event. We talked about giving flowers from the Bulldog family — and that conversation turned into action.

Hole-in-One! Henry “Honey” Graham Makes History

Most of us on the Wire aspire to shoot scratch golf — but if we’re being honest, the majority of us truly enjoy the camaraderie that comes from playing, competing, laughing, and trying to hit that little ball.

That being said, one of our own accomplished something special — something many of us still hope to achieve before we leave this earth.
